My (Transmedia) Generation
Disney and Nielsen link iPad app to TV show in the form of polls, trivia and eventually links to Facebook & Twitter.
Most exciting is Nielsen's contribution of audio watermarking which triggers timed content.

Nick's In Trouble?
Some drama being stirred up over the Skechers characters starring in their own animated TV show. It is all about violation of the Children's Television Act.
So, this is what made me laugh...
David Bittler, a spokesman at MTV Networks, said in an e-mail message: “This show does not violate the Children’s Television Act. We obviously wouldn’t air it if it did.”
and the reader comment...
The only thing "obvious" about that claim is that prolonged exposure to his network's programming has had a demonstrable impact on his neurofunctioning.

Let's see what happens.
40% of Projects are Transmedia!
From Kate of Kidscreen who is currently at Cartoon Forum...
As for talk in the lounge, it's centered around the increasing number of short-format projects at Cartoon Forum, and in fact the official stats show that 58% of the series here this year are short- or medium-format, with 28% having episodes that run under five minutes. Budget stats for this year's crop of contenders show that 56% of the series are coming in at less than US$10,500 per minute. And 40% of the projects were also conceived for cross-media platforms, such as mobile and online or video games, while 28.5% of the 62 projects at the event are co-productions between two or more European countries.

Good Transmedia Quotes Today
From Del Toro, two of my favorite quotes on transmedia.
"Because, as a storyteller, I'm convinced that in the next five to ten years, we're going to need to know all of that."
"I don't think it's going to happen for all things, I think there will be films that will be films, and games that will be games, and so on and so forth. But more and more, things are going to be permeable."
Especially the last one, as last year (in my enthusiam) I was convinced that everything would be transmedia. I have revised my thinking.
