FAQ'S
- When you arrive on Wednesday (before the market on Thursday) we will have a short meeting in the Kunst House to resolve any pitching issues and address any tech issues. I will be on site between14:30 and 17:30. There are networking drinks in our Media Lab at 18:00! We can all go together.
- Before the market on Thursday, you will need to visit the Registration Desk and pick up your festival pass and festival bag and pay the entry fees. Hours for the Registration Desk are Wednesday from 8am to 6pm (18:00) and Thursday morning the desk opens at 8am.
- Projects are in alphabetical order for the pitch. I was guessing that is the most fair way to structure the order!
- Cinekid will provide a podium for your laptop, a beamer and a full HD plasma screen (resolution 1920x1080) for your pitch.
- Beamer Type: Extron USP 405. Producers must bring the appropriate adapter (Mac/PC) chords for your laptops to connect. We will provide standard VGA connector/chords.
- Each pitch lasts a max of 15 minutes. You will be timed. There are an extra 5 minutes in the schedule for walking up to the podium to attach your laptop and to disconnect for the next producer.
- The Steering Committee for the Junior Cross Media Market created a pitch guide for all of the Cross Media Producers so that it is clear what exactly buyers would like to learn about your project. Again, that info is here!
CONTENT:
- Who are the Creators? Brief bios and
backgrounds...
- What is their Creative Vision? Why are they
doing what they are doing...
- What is the Content they are Pitching? A
coherent, tight synopsis of their idea...
- What is the 'Reason for Being' for their
content? Why this idea is relevant and appropriate to the audience
(consumer and trade)...
- What are the details of the Content? Characters,
settings, story arc - whatever details they have fleshed out...
COMMERCIAL:
- What is the Proposed Format? Screen medium,
running time and episode count...
- What is the Cost? Thoughts re
budget...
- What is the Region? Is there a particular
regional bias or flavor of the content likely to affect its commercial
possibility...
- It is best to hold any trailers and other visuals on your hard drive and not depend upon the wireless Internet for your pitch. I do not expect to have Internet troubles, but you never know!
- There will be a recognition for the producer and project which the financiers feel is the most promising. No "prizes" will be awarded, but Cinekid will publish the results on our website which you can then link to after the festival.
- After lunch we will begin with one on one meetings. The financiers read about your projects in advance and decide who they would like to meet with and I arrange those meeting times for you. You will receive an email with your meeting times from me in advance of the market day. Each producer will have a table and then the financiers move around the room. (Please see the photo below.)
