Looks like the answer to that question is NO. Read more about scripted TV v. reality TV here.
Not my normal topic of transmedia, but this ties in with a video I saw on Sidereel that states Republicans (in the US) trend toward reality tv...and the networks follow. Ugh.

Analysis of Transmedia & Gaming
“This one game next year that will have the movie will also have a Facebook game, and Xbox Live game, licensed apparel, action figures and things like that,” Danny Bilson, executive vice president of core games for THQ, tells Gamasutra. “It makes [the property] more a world of the game instead of just the game. That makes the game itself more exciting.”

Nick's In Trouble?
Some drama being stirred up over the Skechers characters starring in their own animated TV show. It is all about violation of the Children's Television Act.
So, this is what made me laugh...
David Bittler, a spokesman at MTV Networks, said in an e-mail message: “This show does not violate the Children’s Television Act. We obviously wouldn’t air it if it did.”
and the reader comment...

Read all about it here.
Let's see what happens.
